I finally broke out of my past 2 days' of bad moods, some small events just aren't worth getting mad or frustrated over. I can't remember when was the last time I ever got so peeved, but I'm back to normalcy now. And that's probably good. At least there are 2 more days ahead to figure out how to get back to the track.

Meanwhile, the School Corporate Video is nearing its 2nd Goldmaster release. If anyone cared, the 1st Goldmaster was v1.1, the upcoming one is v1.5. The feel of the video has been greatly changed, including better quality control. There's still bunch of bugs all over, but I guess this will be the last time it will be worked upon. So tired and blinded, just wished I could close my eyes and hear nothing. Mun wrote about the exams descending upon us. Just about time, to concentrate fire-power over. But my work these days have been more of deliberate than spontaneous. My mind is blank, I have to force it to think. And what that comes out, lacks any passion, lacks quality. The old means do not work, maybe I should look to the creator, and things will be right once again.

Was vetting through my group's POD presentation. The lack of coherence in the work, I cannot find any words to express that frustration.I will not name anyone.

The 4th enterprise, which I refer to as the 4th metamorphosis of my life, is the shortest of all, at only 2 years. And I'm determined that the bad memories of that period should remain a dreadful warning now that I'm onto the next stage. The 5th enterprise did arise from some bickering endings, but it did not start with any big bangs, celebrations etc. It was just a need for change, I don't care for the better or not.

Abandon the routine and take up the challenges. Hence begins the 5th enterprise, last week. A late official statement, but better late than never. I don't care about the squabblings, I don't care about the politics. I'm keeping to myself, 409 Elijah is a failure, so is 410 Samuel. The people, the cliques, how sad what a once great body had dissented to. At least that's what's ingraved in my head, it is my own opinion. I openly admit that I'm conducting a technological war, but am at the losing end. You can have all the best hardware that you can get, but I shall make my own contents and works. So don't ask me for help if your internet connection has died, browser doesn't work, or how to distribute stuff around. I have built the platforms, but people refused to work with me, snub at me. Ingrates, work it out yourself just as I did.

I do not profess to like peace or violence. I just need stimulant. Stimulation leads to change, that is what the 5th enterprise is. I am the passive observer and have seen many things but not have the chance to interact through the links provided, and my sight fails at times, my rant speaks absurdity, forgive me. 拿得起、放得下

firefox extensions

Felt a bit techy just not, so here goes. For the many of you reading this stuff using Firefox, its the right thing to do. You get to stay further away from M$ monopoly, your tabbed browsing, popup blocking and a download manager. But that last aspect has been one of my woes for quite a while. Downloads are one major thing I do, and downloading 4GB ISOs are nothing to me provided I have the right software. The download manager in Firefox simply does not cut up to the task of large downloads. True, its neater organization now that every download is condensed into a box. But the speed isn't there.

That's why there are download accelerators. At the start of the year, I googled for an open sourced download accelerator, no go. Its amazing how fast the open source community moves and the quality of work. Introducing Free Download Manager!! Now, is there some unfinished work that he is rushing or is he juz plain slacking..

My room is now more hospitable with the exception of this stubborn chair. My watch that I bought from Chiangmai last year died last night at 10.25pm due to a drained battery. It was one of the watches I ever fancied which survived my accidental destruction trails. I'm through $260 out of the required $320 for an ipod mini. But considering that macworld is only 1.5 months away, it seems a dumb idea to buy now.

Back to clearing the room.

Arggh, I really can't bear to reformat away my SuSE distro, still got it on DVD. But it simply so much nicer surfing using it on my laptop. The screen is brighter and sharper than my desktop and its so much swifter. This laptop has a dual boot with Windoze and SuSE, and using the same hardware, Windoze with Firefox simply can't compare with the SuSE equilvalent!!!

last run

Thought it would be nice to post a last entry from my SuSE lappie before I reinstall it with that evil Windoze crap. Its so much nicer and blissful surfing on Firefox on SuSE than on Windoze. There's some stupid lag on Windoze that makes surfing such a pain, on SuSE, its nearly instantaneous, and the feel of *nix is so wow. That said, it hasn't ever crashed on me, but well, some progs only run on Windoze.

Had my OC today. Well, was only told last minute that I would be doing today, kinda freaked out then. But some reading of the text out of boredom and necesesity, and a discussion with Mingyi and Kiahua really helped. Mdm Goh said I did fine except that I didn't even make 4 minutes, still room for improvement. That's one more burden off my mind. POD is impending doom, Cheong BZ is reluctant to do any work, or I haven't seen any. Please use initiative. I see clement's point abt BZ..

Currently listening to Journey by Corrinne May (she's a local singer), that t-drama on chU is using that song now.

巧合

Just this morning when I was living the house, I saw my malay neighbour coming back from his overnight shift. And went on to take the lift that he had came back up by.

Coming back home in the evening now, I brushed past him leaving for work. And I guess he will be taking the lift that I came up by.

What can I say, conincidence and a way of life.

I remember sitting on this dental chair in the General Hospital many years back when I was in P3. The nurse came over, and in all my recollection, gave me what seemed to be the worse and most acute jab I ever had. I could have sworn it was 3 times worse than the BCG. Today, I went to get one of my tooth extracted, and the Dr Canon Chong guy administered what seemed to be a dwarf in comparison to that bloody needle back then. As they said, a mosquito bite, and the nurse assisting had her 4 teeth extracted, presumably by him as well. That said, its a miracle what nearly a decade of medical advances have created, seemingly painless jabs. Am thankful for that and the friendly people there. =)

反思

Finding a need to organize my thoughts, I'm writing here once more. This darn chair is really breaking my back and I seriously should have to consider getting a new one. I realize that I have been engaging in some needless blatant gossip and rumor that are uncalled for, and so I shall remind myself now to put an end to all these.

More or less started or finished some math crap, CWH is over-doing it again. And it will be no surprise if we can't complete everything on time. Now, I need to get on with my OC and POD.

This happened about 3 hours ago: Now, this is my second weird encounter with a pair of girls once more, remember that giggling pair?

Well, 3 hours ago, me and kaijun finished the shooting at the water polo b div finals which we won our first gold against HCi. So it was raining real badly then, and my small umbrella was only enough to accomodate the camera to keep it dry whilst kaijun endured the rain. Upon reaching the exit (still under shelter), there was this pair of girls from Yishun JC stoning there. If you are interested, they were bordering between petite and avg-looking. So they overheard me telling kaijun to chiong out there for a cab amidst the rain, and one of them asked me whether I could hail 2 cabs instead, presumably one for them.

Now, priority was to keep the camera dry, so we couldn't hang out in the rain too long to hail 2 cabs. They decided to run out into the rain using a shirt for shelter, LOL. We trudged out there couple of minutes later to find them still trying to hail a cab. They saw us and said mebe we cld hail a cab together and go Toa Payoh MRT or orchard or wherever. And they continued trying to hail a cab. One cab for hire slowed down, and the cabbie realised that they were both wet like ducks and his cab was gonna be really wet, and he zoomed off. Same story for second one. Third one came and when the cabbie told them to get on, they yelped happily and did so. They left the door open and the one who approached me earlier on was calling for us to get on to go to wherever. I think you prowlers reading this would find it quite an attractive proposition. OK, but I'm not a head turner so it can't about me, but yet at the same time, the camera is so big it would only fit one more person into the cab. So one of us would be stranded out there.

So the only LOGICAL concluding deduction would be: They will first get you onto the cab and tikum where they want to go, prolly orchard road. Once you reach wherever, they will tell you that they have no money to pay. LOL, so you pay for the whole taxi trip simply bcos they are asking you to.

I obviously have no money or reason to tolerate that, so we took the cab behind back to school and surfed EDMW in CST room. Bah.

愚鲁

The reason why I can be typing all these now is I have finished my 私函 and 缩短长文 and surprisingly 听写 as well. Looks like that rugby match's postponed off to tomorrow due to the rain. And the first 2 stuff are due on Friday, it feels great to pre-empt ppl at stuff, haha! Was doing shooting for the rugby match today, and 2 sec1s offered to help, much that it wasn't needed. I was just lazy to bring the heavy tripod around, so I left it with Alvin Tan. But since they wanted to help, they got to bring it around and jaga it. So story goes that lens got dirty after some blind rugger rushed by the camera and the cleaning kit came and got lost due to a wrong knot that it was attached by to the tripod. Its prolly $10+ and those 2 said they would pay for it provided it really is $10+, I have no idea how much it actually costs. But its partly my fault, should have done it all myself, and that stupid idea about attaching the kit to the tripod. BAH.

And it has occured to me, some goof has been bringing rotten bananas to school, seems to be Brandon. I know lots of people are terribly critical of him and his so out of this place kinda behaviour, he just doesn't belong here. Not that anyone prolly cared or noticed, I have a sunshine policy, and that applies to Brandon as much as Kiahua (no pun intended at kiahua with the policy name). They have been trying real hard to assimilate with everyone or so, but there's just something missing. I'm not sure, maybe its just acceptance.

Back to the bananas again, they are being eaten even though they are pure rotten. And some ppl have taken to flinging them out of the window. LOL, pointless

Some crazy madhouse or wadever this class is indeed. I think I'll miss it next year, quite a memorable 2 years. Anyone still rmbs wedgies, evil yaos, sian is short? =)

The last few days have been spent catching up on work. By chance of luck, I happened to meet Tim and that cricket guy whom I have never asked for his name. Well, asked them what they thought about Physics Quiz 3, Tim said he guessed his way through it, and that cricket guy said it was peanuts. What's that mean? Time to play even more catchup.

Currently, I'm newly converted to iTunes after Winamp as the new de facto music player on my main machine. I had my first look at it since last year but found it laggy as compared to Winamp lite, but in terms of library organization and audio visualizations, it beats WMP hands down. So I'm converted and have started dumping and organizing all my music in iTunes. There are some aspects of OS X in there, such as the folder thru folder view, which really makes me wonder if I should ask my uncle for his powermac when he gets a new one. ipod mini for me in 2 weeks i guess. =)

It is sad that a once great organization that was respected for its cause has come to such a day. Make no mistake, this is the NKF I'm talking about. Downright dirty and cheap, I came across this description on a friend's blog. And after being to their website and having seen their TV ads, I'm convinced that's the case. They put phone numbers up for donors to call, to help supposed patients in need, yes. But its downright dirty when you do not put how much ppl are donating for next to that particular number. It can jolly well mean a difference between $5 and $500. I'm sure ppl who watched their fund-raising shows in the past would remember them doing that. But its no longer the case this year, the amount is now in fine print and flashed at a glance. Even on their website, one is again slapped with seeing their donation hotlines in your face, but to find out how much its costs for each line, that will take some effort. FYI, you prolly won't know where to start from anyways.

I'm not dissuading anyone from donating to charity or any good causes. But the new practices of NKF are rather questionable and I rather donate elsewhere, the cause is still the same.
