Disoriented

There was a time when I felt I could jump a thousand metres, munch a million fries and swallow a thousand litres of Coke. But now, I feel sick, old and weary. Its worse off than being back at square one.

Tomorrowed

The pictorial above explains it all. The article in question is an old one regarding Pringles.

Update: So that's the kind of traffic one can expect =)

With regards to Football fever, here's some food for thought.

Why is the FIFA World Cup a TRULY international game?
Ans: Its because the USA team is not ranked number one among the competition. Meaning to say the evils of capitalism have yet to wrestle hold of the competition unlike the Superbowl, hence giving countries like Brazil and Ghana much hope.

RG Kippon

Skipper's currently working on the my actual IOP in the homing Libre.

Today, the class crew demonstrated eschewed discipline in collaborated task solving. It was amusing to see the concept of Bit Torrent placed into real world processes, albeit I reasoned that we were doing it with decentralized tracking. Everything went amazingly in tandem, peers were either announcing that they had the necessary packages or were either busy verifying package integreity, making for a pretty rapid distribution. This essentially reduced the download time by up to an hour. All hail the power of grid computing!

Late Nite Foodie

I suppose this is it for the last day of the mockery days. I suddenly have a craving for food... yum

Just a note for myself in future if I ever need late night local food:

EAO

Based on my brief observations over the past few weeks on the atmospheric surface:

06.35 : Sunrise's first rays fill the sky
06.50: Cloudy sky
07.10: Slight Showers
07.30: Cloudy sky
09.00: Piercing sunrays

A non-routine procedure on flashing my main desktop's BIOS has killed it. Yes, what an idiot I am. Forcefully flashing it with a beta version, thinking so I can install Windows Vista Public Beta 2. Now its dead, and due for RMA. The consoleable part is that I backed up everything into the largest hard-disk I have, so accessing them is no problem since its just a single location to look at.

Today is cut-hair day, and also a terribly cloudy hazy day!

Bildungsroman

A bildungsroman is a novel of formation. I set my sights on one.

Digging today, I came across Zefrank's critically comical podcasts.

BBC

Humor in an everyday item, the flashdrive. I call it it the BBC: Bear Bang Com flashdrive. MO anyone? Cited from Engadget.

A distressing note from previous week, F=ma is overwhelmingly elegant! I figured out a contraption for the previous problem of a standing bicycle holder. Basically while docking, the push sets off the catching mechanism that keeps it standing. To release, just push somewhere. Have to get a diagram out sometime hopefully.

siermore

Had a rendevous off to JB for dinner with QZ after catching a 2hr nap yesterday. The week is ringing out, stuff is getting heaty. Its a wonder I didn't get a sore throat after all that dietary abuse. In other news, I like to see a nifty invention like be a standing bicycle holder.

Octance

A fancy day we had, glancing at the arrayful controls, demodulators and servers involved in satellite communication. Notably, SGI remains the workstation of choice for the job. I watched as a 6GB satellite image of Singapore was scrutinized about with ease by the SGI Octane workstation.

This 13m X Band Dish moves and rotates astonishingly fast like those funfair merry-go-rounds. And apparently, most of the satellite tracking equipment can be built into the back of modern dishes.

Approaching Minimum

The Half-time milestone came and past yesterday. Time fleeted away despite my convicted efforts at reigning them in. The Science Focus thingy today was not the eye-opener I expected. This HK assistant professor ended off almost all her sentences with "OK?!" throughout the presentation, the total number came up to whopping 414 times, courtesy of QZ whom kept count.

With regards to the recent So Dark the Con of NUS, I think I have obtained some first-hand experience to attest to this. So it all came together, lack of progress and failure at social networking, the thoughts of negativity are swelling all about my head. Things are almost crashing!! And the only thing keeping me from falling apart now is God. Sometimes it felt like I had lost my raison d’être. Its kinda dreadful to see so many ripened ideas decay with the absence of partners and being isolated up in the North.

I hope I make it back, hopefully before the last rays of sun-down.

传法

On one of my vision quests this morning, these guys appeared.

As you can see, pretty peaceful meditating bunch, but I counted about 6 people there. So the anal authorities might count it as an illegal gathering of sorts (more than 4 ppl).

They were mostly showing off their wares and brochures to the crowd of mainland Chinese tour groups. I saw some articles about their members in China being detained and stuff. I guess their plight is worth some publicity.

And, I found them near the Esplanade.

Northern Lights

Blissfully consuming sushi while watching the story of the Last Chinese Emperor, the maki appeared to me in new light. It was first time that they looked like shiny colorful toys to me. Isn't it wonderful doing something for the first time. Something amazingly new everyday...

Majura

We crashed at Haoyi's house yesterday for the twice termly class party, which I guess will be a feature for terms to come ;) Peektures of splashes to come after I get back from the PC show. Kangdi managed to get a job at the SMC booth ($60 per day) for the next 4 days plus $1 commission per item sold. $240+!! Grrr, most of the openings were apparently taken up about 2 months ago, and I missed the last one a month ago. The expenditure by me has been pretty high this year greatly thanks in part to the OEP so I do hope to get some extra input this year.

While on the train this morning, I noticed this F16 hovering quite low on the horizon from Marsiling. And it seemed to follow with the train all the way till Choa Chu Kang, total of 5 stops. Pretty interesting flight path for training. I intend to get back to Flight Simulator sometime soon. On the way I was pondering some ideas after watching the documentary on The Elegant Universe and String Theory. Could it be possible that this universe is a median of the other 10 parallel ones?

On more down to earth issues, I was wondering how solar panels could be arranged in a manner like leaves on trees. Or mobile trailers that could stack on top of each other to form our HDBs, and could also move out as they wished. Why aren't phone entertainment services offered at train stations where they would be in demand later on the train ride?

I hope to uncover more possibilities this holidays. This time, the mind is set on the question and the dice is not left to random.
