Tea Brewing Dangers

The brew chattered hysterically within the porcelain confinements. Rumble tumble. The tea brewer stood afar, perspiring amidst the buffeting sauna. Fumble mumble. A swift prayer, keep his nerves above the jumble. Hissing fits expelled themselves from the chamber, racketing the brew over potent amber. Pandora's pot sat atop, yelling not for long! Defence-less brewer heaves at knob with scalded arms; must escape from this reckless war-monger. Make no mistake twice, before and after. To the cries of the monster, the door opens.

碧白

Flitter
白茫茫的空隙之上,却坐立不安。朝我这话语白痴讽刺:问你真假是非要乔装到何时?唯有领受冷酷的款待,可耻可笑。何苦?

SuperVoters

The fiesty red-white campaigns are back again! An obligatory disclaimer being that I'm non-partisan with any contestants, hence am not making any blatant advertisements on their request. But as my rather cooperative photographic subjects, they are in luck for some online exposure!
Superstunned
Red Masque
Cosplay
TMNT
Boba Fett
If they made an impression, vote for them! A pity no Darth Vader.

In other stories, a case of how not to get elected: making people slip over your election poster on the stairs. Yes, that gets you a negative vote.

Yaar
Mm.. muffin cup sizes.

Breathe

Another Day
After a half year hiatus, the skies have returned to flaunting their vibrant displays. The world has not rescinded its colors, us lazy pigs are just deaf and blind to the countless performances. In other stories, some opportunists have taken to a little experiment in the pond downstairs: The Stones have spoken. We know the fishes did it.

There were unexpected faces turning up at today's hike. In all recollection's entirety, I have never ventured to Bukit Timah Reserve. The monkeys are really there, and easy to find. Here's a big smile for the swift 100 large steps that took everyone's breath away (literally).

City of Strangers

The shards of first light piercing through the horizon:
An outburst no living faithfully recaps
What conspires in that golden reason?
A day's share of enigmatic traps?
Or a Promise to wreck my anxiety.
The portfolio of receding darkness blends into the shadows
Is cuttingly sublime and altruistically subtle

Make for the wayward meadows!
Attrition impending pandemonium
Has made strangers out of friends
In the jungles of the coalesced cities
Beneath the embattled cosmic blaze
Ruptures the smelt willfulness

The chasing messenger
The falling twist
The begone Promise:
A world without walls.

No X

No Swimming

Koi fish can live for up half a century. The size they grow to is not dependent on age or food, but by the expanse of the water body they live in. Likewise recently while cracking thousand liner code on my miniature laptop screen, I frustatingly made no progress, until I used my desktop with the bigger screen. A bigger perspective, can lead to radical breakthroughs.

Around us lies a bigger pool that we are told not to plunge in, knowing the limits impressed on you, would you?

Regere

The isolated week flies to conclusion, ahead lies that miracle dash for our lives. In the span of the last few days, I came face on with my demons again, luckily battling them more cool-headedly than before. The show hasn't climaxed, I need to be alive to watch it.

purser

Don't ever let other people tell you what you can't do. They only tell you that because they couldn't do it.

The pursuit for happiness is a black box art, you can only hope and guess what comes out of it. Years of rigid education have unrealistically accustomed me to white boxes, dissecting what components makes things the way they are. Its demeaning when dealing with people as objects, they have feelings and can respond. But I came to understand that I can't take the reigns when I have trust in people. The over-expectations I place on people I know can only lead to disappointments. A level of distrust keeps me on the check. But its natural to want people to rely on when I'm not reliably on my feet. When I take the back-seat, they just get snobbish.

I'm split. But I know enough to know what's precious.

Frankly

SYPC
Omg. My team won first place for SYPC, and no one friggin informed me throughout the day. Ok, partly my bad for ponning the prize presentation 'cause I thought we were bound to lose. Haha, my first winnings from photography, that's a start! If my hearings are accurate, we are appearing in tomorrow's papers. Look out.

An shell-shocked excerpt from when I first found out about an hour ago:

Me: did u go today?
NS: yeah
NS: you won $200 bucks my friend
Me: oh won anything?
Me: you mean my grp?
NS: nah i didnt win anything
NS: yeah your group got first
Me: gee!!! they didnt tell me

NS: my group was how noobie
Me: dude u got to be kidding

off the beaten track

Rugged

Arriving once again, the gusts of adventure are sweeping me off the doorsteps to distant lands. That's to say a weekend's wander in the rain-forests. Sheer madness you say but heck, I need to get away, the real madness is staying on here and imploding! The term has concluded with its share of new knowledge, surprises and getting bored, all hail diversity. Shelling off a mini finale, someone whom I hadn't talked with since the start of term finally broke the impersonal standoff today.

a window

Ensuing fits of cough have been plaguing me over the past week, with no signs of subsiding anytime near. Nevertheless, the discomfort is a worthy jolt of what it means to be alive, the woes of aging and sickness. I'll live with it for a while longer, as a reminder of other numerous distractions. Additionally, an afternoon bowling session has left my right arm feeling slightly dislodged.

School has evolved into a cyclical conundrum, the urge that it has outgrown your patience, colliding with the paranoia that failure was imminent without it. There isn't a quick fix, what is needed is will. Repeated shattering and reconstruction are supposed to strengthen you, but I can't help feeling fragmented.

Chiam See Tong came and gave a parable speech, peppered with subtleties. But for the most part, disappointed most people looking towards hearing his political inclinations. The old man is said to command an aura known only to politicians of his era. I wish it had spoken to me more strongly.

Wielding the camera has been one of my greatest love and discovery for quite a while. Though video and still cameras are different beasts, I had to be content in stymieing the latter for service of the school; a misplacement that I deeply regretted. The elements that comprise a good film rest in not just a good concept, but also a competent team of peers. Crafting a dramatic approach in addition to the photographic framing, as a team remains an insurmountable challenge chiefly due to bad blood and poor scale. Having an alluring concept is foremost important, its a natural people magnet. But I bungle matters up often-not due to overestimation, and I hardly find anyone decent willing to push through.

With the windows of opportunity fast closing in this year, I made the retreat back to solo photography: the still screen where the soul and machine converge behind. Pumping more capital into this as an affirmation for myself and catching up on lost ground. Maybe I'm trying to paint a rosy image over the past, maybe. The immediate reality is staring right at me the eye, I do not like its looks. I'm pelting it with stones, crawling away. I'm trying.

Happy Founder's Day.
