flame ricochet

All hands to deck!
Dismantle all devices!
Haste fall make regroup!

The era of procrastination, of half-measures, of soothing and baffling expedients, of delays, is coming to a close. In its place we are entering a period of consequences.

Windwalk

There isn't much to put into words despite the numbered discontents I have. What can I say? The caustic wind has unearthed dirt and weed alike, but we are still here. Albeit jittered and clinging to the crevices.

Recognizing the egoistic agendas of people, I'm compelled to employ an account of my own. Politics are really not for me, this leopard can't change its spots.

The festival tomorrow has never been any significance in my life and foreseeably not. But I shall point out that the florist's love for the noisy cash register is never as intense as this time of the year. Then lastly there is a heartwarming account to share on this occasion.

Parrots

Owner 1
Grabbed my camera out for breakfast without any objective in mind. While cycling back, I caught the distinctively hysterical high-tones of a parrot cooing out hello, hello. I thought they were unchained, amazingly, but later on closer approach realized I was mistaken. Rather rare but great lifetime companions, considering they live up to half a century. Noisy but clever XD

Lethargy and procrastination has incapacited my workflow, I need to claim back my head.

Distance Streaks

Streaking across far distances doesn't seem much of an unsurmountable challenge these days, its easy on a jet plane, or a car in Singapore. Biking overnight 72km from Changi to Marine and back, great idea for an adventure! Not having any prior experience with night-time sports photography, apologetically, half my catch were badly taken. A case of accidental art above.

Before we hit the road, attaching the light-sticks.

The fellowship huddles for memorial's sake before the ride into darkness. Darn, I'm not in there.

The party broke up less than ten minutes out. Start-stops were inevitable with the front pack cycling at full speed, and the back occasionally stranded by the traffic light. I accelerated to beat the light, looking behind to check, only to subconsciously veer sideways and crash down. Camera slung around the neck wasn't good idea, it would get scratched. Luckily for me, the bike handles supported me and camera some height above ground that time. No crazy turn back and shoot sequences to everyone's disappointment.

Ian stares at this photographer, confounded. His rented bike got stolen whilst we were slacking. Absolute disaster. We send Ian packing off in the third cab. The earlier two saw our bikes, thought we were pranking and accelerated off.

Disaster strikes twice. Half the pack lost and going in loops around National Stadium area. Whilst waiting for them to find their way, Bunny told the Purple Passion "joke" to a bash-ready audience.

Don't ask me how, we reach East Coast somehow. Daytime comes, but no sunrise opportunity for me as sky was cloudy. Everyone falls asleep and thinks they missed sunrise.

Dramatic ending: Big planes fly over us. Uber, Sunday is for sleep.

Consuming too much sweet stuff makes me feel guilty every time after that. You know that it shortens your life and blemishes all those long sweating out sessions. The only good reason that one would indulge in such an obscene practice is as means of rewarding oneself. Be aware when cravings get out of hand.

There was a presentation today about love, all kinds. In a way, love tastes sweet. So would excessive consumption strike our guilt?

Consider that in school, some of our teachers do go beyond the line to show genuine care and concern. We only have to passively absorb this, but most times the taste is rather bitter than sweet. Most people would rather do without that extra worksheet. The guilt, is the aftermath of not recognizing his/her kind intention.

Then we have our peers, some whom proclaim to recognize the greatest love of Christ. What is love without teasing or name-calling? They say. Waking up everyday and sitting amidst the sea of changing masks must be one of the greatest pranks of life. Please recognize you are throwing daggers but calling them sweets.

I have gone the extra mile before, putting my shoes in that person's to consider how I would be helpful or adding joy to his/her day. Conversely, you expect reciprocation. That frequency of exchange and indebtedness is a definition of most friendship love. So all the blind stoners, do you have a friend that inspires your guilt?

Running with Scissors

Decidedly another uneventful day in the screw-house. People are just freaked out over the foreboding OP that draws near. Look front or back, the stinkpads are all on the tables. Its makes for quite a scene a few times in a year.

Quite a mouthful of ongoing incidents this week, let's keep running on.

Enough bad stuff has been said about the statues. If only they would squawk like the real thing. =)

Fritters

Tucked away in Holland Village is this shop that makes some real black and saucy noodles. Not the cheapest or the best, but decent for a lunch flick with air-con. The essentials to any self-deluging blog on foods are the peektures. Mr.Chan, whom I mistakenly reported left last week (leaving this Sunday), ordered a large plate of deep fried dough sticks aka 油條 stuffed with fishcake or cuttlefish.

Yum, they taste better when dipped with the rojak like sweet sauce, although I think salad mayonaise dressing for fried prawns would complement them quite well.

This dish is a tad off for price. $16 for 12 pieces, work out the math if you would.
