チズ

The holidays have begun to a muffled bang, nevertheless still discernable. After leaving a tad too early week before, I finally strapped on a Wii-mote for a game of Wii-Sports on the Nintendo Wii at Haoyi's. For the uninitiated, the Wii is Nintendo's innovative kick at the uber-expensive PS3. Rather than playing with stationary button controllers, you wave motion-sensing controllers about in the air. Adds realism and great for working out. By far, Tennis has got to be the best game for 4 players on the Wii, fast switchovers and requires lots of interaction. Boxing tires big time, Vickie has a retarded video of me whacking in the air at Bunny. I do admit, those pictures of a Wii-Mote physically fly-slammed into the TV, high chance of happening.

Anyways, I'm actually behind schedule of my study plan, which has yet to factor in a couple more days of incapacitance till Wednesday. I'm setting up a dedicated study syndicate in the North, Fish has gladly consented to being the second member. Members get to take turns to host syndicate meetings in their home turf, beverages on host. Primary focus will be subjects that are mugg-able like Physics and Math. If interested, drop a line. Carpe diem!

Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi!
The King is dead, long live the King!

Event Conatus

A fine gathering of the timid-hearted we have called unto this darker purpose.
The impending Storm fashions and congeals silence under our watch.
Sacrifices have to be made, that there be less to lose than to gain.
"Solidarity!", some ruptured, out of unison.
The future is yet set in stone.
Peace be with you.

Currency of Life

I was never particularly an extroverted person. I only learnt to act like one. Don't look too much to me for help, I need it more than I can offer you any in my hypocritical words. Whenever I go the extra mile to share with you, please don't shrug it off and reject it behind. To be underappreciated and ignored by the world, a Fool talking through the box. A box bleating back at the Fool. For the Fool is being hoaxed.

As is before and is current. My identity is not composed, but only a scribbling of anxious voices. I need to go, away where your good and bad do not haunt. For you have seen where my weakness bleeds, and I'm naught to fix. Heed the advisory of being above, take flight and be content. For whereto the wind blows, we shall be in the guidance and mercy of His hands.

Scrum!

Try as he might..
Try as he might..
But held locked,
He would not budge.
The Wind on the back of History.

The struggling green shirt player's ex-AC player John Winowsky, ahead confronted by Martin Butler

Probably the last few games I'll be attending within this institution. Might I say the AC spirit has returned, even more so intense on the edge of defeat to bitter rivals.

Ok, but the Bishan JC won anyway.

Chaps

Eye You
Backtrack to my entry of half a year earlier, today we decided to hoist an expedition back to visit those cute and innocent looking rascals. Actually it was rather out of necessity since Deborah's (Cobra) and Minyang's CT required pictorial evidence before signing their AEFs. It just seemed like yesterday, but 6 months has sure done a heck lot to the place. There's now actually a proper logbook! On the long looping bus ride, we got to reminiscient about getting lost getting there, and that nasty "volunteer" term the kids spammed at us like plague. A not too traumatic return I must say; we/I was actually on the lookup for Thiru/Nathan, the bunch that will come destroying my camera. But by some dumb luck, peace was with us.

Not to forget about mural painting yesterday:

!nkos

Soonks Grin
A jovient grin for the occasion: !nk's Return in 2007.

The culmination of 7 months' big talk with lots of inaction had its veils lifted today. Kudos to Kaijun and whatever team he has for overcoming the superfluous, surmountable, mountainous delays in bringing this thing to life once more.
Salesmen Pretending to be Friends
Trust me. No one's to blame on this. If we need a bashing figure, its got to be the caffeine monster. Chief Editor, Colin Chan, illustrates his agreement to this effect by reading !nk under a sign of peace.
Pok
Funky cover, too bad I don't have a proper capture of it. Despite a great sellout, I would like to lambast the editorial for using my Y5 Council pictures without exercising proper journalism ethics in soliciting my prior permission for their use. Please take note of protocol people!

Great job team! See you guys in 6 months time!

粉雪

The show's over, and the crowds disperse...
Stomped
Momentary unity or a sizzling of superficiality? I wondered what brought the crowds there. And which unspoken names and faces had I missed out from the crowd.

Julius Beever
Yesterday I dropped by Raffles City and got this shot of Julius Beever's stint in Singapore. This week had its best shares of daily laughters this term, yet the ominous rainclouds are never far each day. Oh, a Storm approaches in the distance. Madness and Grace governs this overarching concerto. But You are still my light and solace when all others falter. Yes, I'll sing of You.

Buggy

I have arrived at a rough verdict. The formula for any generic killer school disciplinary case of today: bad-ass pictures of culprits caught in the act + infectious posting on a random blog. The whole theatre was literally gasping in utter disbelief at the hilarity of the duo's pictures juxtaposed with Chock's aura of severity. The allegation: Councilors Liow Yiyang and Shawn Ang taking the innocuous golf buggy outside the office for a joy ride after school and blatant advertising their deeds on a blog.

Going past five minutes of Yang and Ang's face-off denial over who was at fault. I guess people suspected it was way too fishy. I almost put it off, if not for Samuel Sim breaking the silence and ordering the duo to promptly remove their council badges. Haha, the "good friends" part gave it away, Chock was really a good sport. Plus I wondered why only the 2 were being held liable in front when evidently, there was a 3rd partner-in-crime, the photographer who took all that. Kudos to the First Council! And to Liow and Ang for keeping up with that friendship plot since orientation. We will remember this for a long time to come.

On our escapade for Crystal Jade 小笼包 yesterday, we had encountered the unmanned buggy under the ramp. Little did we know this was the mischief council had in stall. Now am I glad for a little comic relief before the start of our final ramping and after the less than stellar Li Lee Eng today.

Despite the showers of criticism and lamentations, I guess most of us really cherish the opportunity being the pioneering batch of AC IB. In the six precious months that are left, I guess council decided next week was the last opening when we could preserve our happy times together in the calm before the storm. The mural idea kinda reminds me of the Broadway Walk of Fame. A part of us shall stay for a long time to come in the walls of this school. And whilst that comes to fruition, I'm still trying to get to know more of the Y6 cohort individuals that I never had a chance to raise a note with. In other words, you guys and gals are all very special.

Yasha

The days inching towards June weigh increasingly. Do you not hear the devious caffeine monster threatening to revoke your 7s if you fail to pay adequate tribute to its all-empowering wonders by hourly ingesting a variant of brew from its kingdom? Ye of poor intake! But for all its wonders, the diplomacy of academia are made safer navigated by wit behind all the grit.

A hardworking RJC friend of mine whom once sent me daily prayers during last year's end of years suggested an all-encompassing mugging battle plan on the scale of 8 weeks. For last October, I devised one on paper by hand according to her advisory, meeting the results I needed to avoid pentapuku (honor death by stabbing oneself with pen). But that has long went to the bin a month after the papers. I have to dig through the logs once again and re-plan the skirmish again. Shoe, if you are reading this, please advice and let's keep the encouragement going.

In an apparent deviation from the expectation, Hurricane R commended me on a mock IOC presentation for King Lear today. I smoked it up in half a morning with a feeling that there was a big gaping missing linkage to it. Then there were intermittent breaks in between breaking the flow, turning into chatters on random subjects. Now conversely what better way to smoke out of this hubris than to claim its all good ans well. I shall still die in the real thing.

Garde

There comes a time wishing that we were all younger at heart, unburdened by the festered bondages of wordliness. To be a traveller on the road, the ease of being unrooted and wandering to unclaimed lands. This make-believe is never a cure, what then is the remedy for apathy? No one has subsisted me with a practical answer just yet. People have spent a lifetime consumed in discoveries, and ideas are powerless without the right people and beliefs.

Its been a gnawing thought at the back of my mind, that the very people and principles that I despise, I would come to become. Now, this a warning to the future self, from the haunts of less sinister times.

Namasté

Surviving through the Friday's mini attrition culminated in a banner trouping race to The Cathay for bountiful tickets to "oh-so-cliche-and-predictable-but-hell-let's-watch-it-anyway" Spiderman 3. Takeaway being Tobey Macguire setting a screen standard for emo hair definition and random play. Yes, what's with the Stars and Stripes appearing for 2 seconds?!

Despite threatening ramifcations of not thorougly (re)reading Huckleberry Finn or the other nasty selections for that matter, I'm quite pleased with myself for attempting 3 books (that actually interest me) and finishing 2 of that in the past month. With enough sharpening of book-worm wits and eye flitting skills so I can finish the last Harry Potter installment in record 5 hours? Heck no, one should savour every moment of that.

Sunlight is said to be the best of disinfectants for hoarded information.

Coincidentally, the sun took itself out of Wednesday's softball game. Lots of great in-your-face shots, but sadly none to show here since ain't my camera.

Vedas

Om is bow, the arrow is soul,
Brahma is the arrow's goal,
It must be struck unswervingly.

Siddhartha returns to haunt us once again. Hesse's bildungsroman, a vivid passage through the arduous quest for life's source and the end, soundly resonates the incessant struggles between the material and the mind. It does great injustice to demean it as mere abstract overflow when beneath the cover, its interwoven amidst a lyrical allegory that undergoes stylistic renewal through each stage of the journey. Praiseworthy as this inclination may endorse, there are always two sides to a tag, and this Friday's paper is already a definite goner.

Broken Beagle

I can't help feeling that I'm giving some people the wrong signals. I learnt the lesson from D painfully, and am keeping a watchful eye so less hopefuls get hurt.
It was a partially fruitful day at the library, the place I call home for work. Truth be told, I haven't returned to my adopted workaholic home since my Macbook aka White Knight got me real flustered out trying to figure why there was no internet since the start of the year. A little accidental doodling revealed a much overlooked daemon, it was staring in my face almost right all these time!
I'm reshuffling my playlists: A new one for mugging. I tend to include more progressive R&Bs, quintessential for supplying a healthy rhythm to keep my mind awake and absorbent. Then there's my old time favorite film fantasy list: Hans Zimmer, Enya...

Spoils

Clambered back from the badminton workout only to discover that my household network had plummeted into dis-connectivity from Google (which constitutes the known outside world). Now, that's a big deal. I have heard of the tell-tale signs but never expected to encounter one: namely a dying modem from extensive overuse. How does something stationary that has no moving parts fail you after a year and half, beats me. Luckily the reliable commercial grade Alcatel unit was dug back out from the cupboard recesses. On the record, a few of my other possessions have also decided that now would be a great time to give up the ghost. Being my 3rd pair of the same model of Sony in-ears for the 4th year, I don't really have much of a choice do I.

Workout was great, I have discovered my footing and am making improvements in the agility department. That was probably the only worthy thing that didn't ruin the day.

Sea Scritches

Let's just say I caught this show today, thinking they must have concocted a better formula to dare scrap the predecesor.
Another Lady
Flame Sach
Peak
Wham
Verdict being, badly mistaken! The storyline seems terribly forced to accomodate whatever special effects they could spam. At least the previous musical fountain one just threw everything at you, but the story here is a real pain in the neck. I find it hard to believe this will be a permanent fixture. Please do your foreign friend a favour, treat them to a movie or dinner instead. Even the Night Safari would be better.
